Since I have been a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, arranger and performer for many years I feel well qualified to offer criticism on all things musical. Primarily of course this means musical recordings, whether on CD, vinyl or downloaded MP3. I may at some stage add some live concert reviews if the mood takes me.

I enjoy listening to most varieties of music, especially: rock (in most of it's forms), pop (the quality stuff only), classical (not the atonal crap), folk, musicals, old-time and jazz (about half its forms), so you can expect these reviews to concentrate on those areas. There are however, some genres that I detest, namely: hip-hop, thrash metal, girly music, doof and punk. I consider these genres to be either not music at all, or so poor musically as to be unlistenable. For this reason you will not find many examples of these in my reviews. The only exceptions will be where I use a famous example to pour scorn on the genre as a whole.

As is the case with the other sections I will attempt to review many of the "classic" albums and hopefully you will find my opinions interesting and hopefully they will stimulate some new thinking on your part. I also hope that when you read one of my 5 star reviews of some album that you haven't heard, that you will be persuaded to give it a few listens. You know that just one listen is not enough to form a proper opinion, (especially on a work that is considered a classic).
